U25 Australia Match Team – Selection Trials – March 2025

Trials for the Under 25 Australia Match are to be held in March 2025.

To encourage Under 25 members to nominate and to avoid the cost of travel and accommodation to Brisbane, the trials will be held on a State or Territory basis. The following conditions are proposed:

  1. Trials to be held at any time during the month of March 2025.
  1. Nominees will be advised in advance and will be required to coordinate locally on a range location and dates for the trials.
  1. Nominees for shooters are to fire two stages of 2+10 shots at 300y/m, 600y/m, 900y/800m and 1000y/900m, under coach. These stages may be fired on one weekend or over two or more weekends in March 2025, on different ranges if required. The stage distances may be fired in any order. For example, one day could be the two shorter ranges and the following day could be the two long ranges, or vice versa to suit local programming and logistics. Nominees may fire more than two stages at each distance but are to submit only the best two stages shot at each distance.
  1. The wind coach for the trials can be over 25 years, but Under 25 wind coaches are also invited to trial for the team by coaching the Under 25 shooter nominees. Nominees may submit plot sheets as a shooter and separate plot sheets as a coach.
  1. A4 size plot sheets for each stage are to be accurately plotted by an independent person (not a family member) and each is to be certified that it is a true record of the group and score. All dates and names of shooter and coach and plotter are to be clearly shown, together with wind calls and scores. A sample completed plot sheet will be issued as well as blank plot sheets for local printing. Only the NRAA issued plot sheets are to be used to allow for fair comparison.
  1. Where electronic targets are used, a photograph or screen shot is to be taken of the group corresponding to each stage.
  1. All trial information is to be submitted no later than Monday 7th April 2025.
  1. Note that if an Under 25 member intends to nominate for the Open Australia Match team, then they will be required to attend the trial in Brisbane in March 2025. However, if also nominating for the Under 25 team as a backup option, then for the purposes of the Under 25 team selection plots from the Open team trial will substitute for the plots obtained from local Under 25 trials and nominees will not have to complete both.

Further information is available on the NRAA website: 2026 Australia Match

Nominations are to be submitted on the NRAA form by Sunday 4th August 2024. Click here for the nomination form.
