A team of NRAA members recently attended The Imperial Meeting, which is held each year by the NRA of UK, at the Bisley Rifle Range.

Team members arrived at Bisley during early July and attended a number of practice sessions at the 300yds, 500yds, 600yds, 900yds and 1000yd Ranges. This allowed the teams members to zero their rifles and practice before the commencement of the individual and team matches.

The team was well supported by Barry Wood as coach and Di Wood, who assisted with the team’s finances.

Barry and Di also hosted a meet-n-greet for team members, prior to the commencement of competition so everyone could meet each other, given there was representation across a number of NRAA’s State and Territory Associations.

The team performed well across the 5 team matches they competed in, which were:

1) Commonwealth Rifle Club 3 x 7 shots at 300m,500m & 600m
2) Opening Shot 2 x 15 shots at 900m & 1000m
3) Overseas Match 2 x 7 shots at 300m, 500m & 600m
4) Kolapore Match 3 x 10 shots at 300m, 500m & 600m, with the AUS Team coming 2nd.
5) MacKinnon Match 2 x 10 shots at 900m & 1000m, with the AUS Team coming 2nd.

A number of individuals performed with distinction – including Steve Negus, Mitch Bailey and Jim Bailey, who finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd  in the Grand Aggregate. The team had 11 team members (50% of the team) in the King’s Prize final.
