The second Perth Fremantle Rifle Club Lithgow Cup was held on 9 June at the Pinjar Rifle Range with competitors vying for a table full of prizes donated by Barry and Son, Lithgow Arms and Beretta Australia.  The Cup is focussed on Sporter Discipline shooters but includes all other full-bore classes.

With winter in full swing competitors faced a few short showers and some gusts of wind. Some excellent scores were returned at 700m over the four applications of 2 x 10 shots and 2 x 15 shots.

Jim Gow, Yarloop RC and Chad Comley, Perth Fremantle RC shared the cash prize for the highest cold bore first shot with both returning perfect scores. The grand aggregate first prize winners were Jake Vandenelzen, Yarloop RC (259.28) in PC who dropped just one point and Ben Piotto, Darling Range RC  (250) in PCO with a perfect score. They each received a new scope and prize money. Ben’s 75.12 in match 3 was the stand out score of the day.

Steve Crago, Bassendean Bellevue RC (243.18) won the TR class and Dave Bliss, Perth Fremantle RC (290.26) the FTR class. Steve’s 75.11 in Match 4 demonstrated his proficiency with a scope-less rifle.
