Annual Night Shoot a Success

Mar 28, 2022 | Competitions

Peter Ridgway Secretary Perth Fremantle Rifle Club

22 shooters attended the Perth Fremantle Rifle Club’s annual night shoot at Pinjar on 19 March 2022. The competition was at 300m and used Silver Mountain electronic targets. For the first time gong shooting was included in the event with gongs set at 412m. Some 3 o’clock wind was experienced but the conditions were cool and pretty good – no doubt a relief for those that had shot the 900m earlier in the day.

Gong shooters had the choice of small and larger gongs with a possible being 30 for the small 100mm gongs (2 points for each hit) and 15 for the larger 200mm gong.

Highlights included Brett Rodgers Hunter Class score of 75.10 from 75; Vince Cullen (Mundaring RC) F Open score of 88.6 from 90; Lindsay Clarke F Standard 84.5, Graeme Turner FTR 81.5, Steve Crago (Bass Bell RC) TR 67.2. Of the gong shooters Brett Boneham HC scored 30 from 30 at the smaller gong and Glenn Potter HC, Chris Hughes HC and Lindsay Clarke FS scored possibles at the larger gong.

The club thanks the Bassendean Bellevue Rifle Club for their assistance on the range and for providing additional electronic targets. Our thanks also go to The Pinjar Foodies for the evening meal and Jodie Hitch for keeping the wet mess open.
