The NRAA is calling for nominations for the NRAA Target Rifle Team to compete at the 158th Imperial Meeting at the National Shooting Centre, Bisley, UK in 2027.

The 2026 Campaign
The NRAA Target Rifle Team has just returned from an outstanding campaign at the 157th Imperial Meeting at Bisley. The team won the Overseas Match by a single point from Guernsey in one of the closest results seen at the Imperial Meeting in recent years. Four Australians finished in the top 20 of the King’s Prize Final — Jim Bailey in 6th, Steve Negus 16th, Peter Thurtell 19th and Ben Emms 20th — with multiple Australians placing in the top 50 of the Grand Aggregate. David Luckman won the Grand Aggregate for a remarkable fourth time, with James Corbett finishing second.
It was one of the strongest Australian Target Rifle campaigns at Bisley in recent memory and sets a high standard for the team heading to the 158th Imperial Meeting in 2027.
The 158th Imperial Meeting — Bisley 2027
The Imperial Meeting has been held annually at Bisley since 1890 and remains the pinnacle of fullbore target rifle shooting internationally. The King’s Prize — first awarded by Queen Victoria in 1860 — is the most prestigious individual title in the sport, contested across three stages over multiple days on the iconic ranges of the National Shooting Centre.
For Australian target rifle shooters, selection for the NRAA team represents the highest honour in the national program and an opportunity to compete against the best in the world on one of the sport’s most historic stages.

The NRAA is seeking members with strong discipline knowledge, practical experience and a commitment to representing Australia at the international level. Whether you are an experienced Bisley campaigner or making your first trip, the NRAA encourages all eligible members to put their hand up.
