The National Rifle Association of Australia (NRAA) is inviting Sporter shooters across Australia to participate in the NRAA Sporter SSR Impact & Participation Study, now open for responses.
The study has been developed to better understand the experiences of members participating in Sporter Class and assess how the current Standard Shooting Rules (SSR Version 2.0) are working in practice.
Sporter has continued to develop as a competitive discipline, and gathering feedback directly from participants is an important part of understanding what is working well, where challenges exist and what opportunities may be considered for the future.
What will the survey cover?
The survey seeks feedback on several areas, including:
- Participation in Sporter Production and Sporter Open.
- The impact of the current SSRs on rifle eligibility, equipment choices and participation.
- Perceptions of fairness and accessibility within the two classes.
- Clarity and understanding of the current rules.
- Competition participation and opportunities for future development.
The information collected will assist the NRAA in identifying common experiences, understanding the practical impact of the current rules and informing future discussions about Sporter Class.
Who should participate?
The NRAA encourages current and former Sporter participants to complete the survey, including those whose participation or equipment choices may have been affected by the current rules.
Responses will be verified against NRAA membership records to maintain the integrity of the study. Names, membership SIDs and club details will be used for verification and will not be included in published survey results.
Have your say
The survey is now open and will close on Wednesday, 16 December 2026 at 8:00 pm.
