The National Rifle Association of Australia is proud to announce a major new partnership with Extravision Australia and VORTEX Optics, supporting both the Australian Rifle Team and the 2026 National Rifle Championships.
The partnership marks a milestone in a relationship with Extravision that spans more than twenty years. Across two decades Extravision has been a steady supporter of NRAA competition, and this year that support grows into its most significant chapter yet, backing both an Australian team and our national championship.
Extravision Australia, based in Brisbane, is the exclusive Australian and New Zealand distributor of VORTEX Optics. For the NRAA, a local Queensland partner bringing one of the most respected names in optics to our teams and events is a natural fit.
The team partnership grew out of the shooters themselves. Ahead of the season the captain and wind coaches of the Australian Rifle Team put a range of optics to the test in real match conditions, spotting fall of shot and reading the range out to 1000 yards, before settling on VORTEX. Team captain Jim Bailey, who tested the optics through an entire match, described the setup as “game changing.”
The result is that VORTEX becomes the official Spotting Optics Partner of the Australian Rifle Team – Target Rifle through to the 2028 Palma Match, giving the team a dedicated optics partner for the first time in the discipline’s history. VORTEX is also coming on board as an optics sponsor of the 2026 National Rifle Championships and Australia Match, with competitors across every discipline shooting for quality VORTEX optics at Belmont this October.
“The coaches and spotters require optics that can clearly see every detail in razor-sharp definition, including the subtle shimmer of mirage out to 1000 yards,” said NRAA Sport Manager Ash Brunning. “It is a critical tool for the team in making every shot count, and this partnership is sure to have an impact in the years to come.

The Australian Rifle Team received their VORTEX optics at a presentation at Belmont over the weekend, as they train toward the Australia Match, the pinnacle international teams event of Australian fullbore, whose closing stage takes place on Sunday 18 October.
The partnership runs through to the 2028 Palma Match, and the NRAA and Extravision will review it after the 2026 event with a view to building on it in the years ahead. The NRAA thanks Extravision and VORTEX for their support and looks forward to a long and successful partnership.
