Standard Shooting Rules – effective from 1 January 2026
The documents below set out the Standard Shooting Rules that apply to NRAA activities from 1 January 2026.
- SSR V2.0 (1 Jan 26) contains the core safety, conduct and competition rules and updated discipline chapters.
- SSR V8.0 (1 Jan 26) contains only those discipline chapters that have not yet been revised and remain in force until replaced.
All members, clubs and officials should refer to SSR V2.0 for general requirements, and to the relevant chapter in SSR V8.0 where a discipline-specific chapter has not yet been updated.
ADDENDUMS AS AT 19 JANUARY 2026
SP. Sporter production rifles must be chambered in the SAAMI/CIP cartridge/calibre as supplied by the manufacturer. This is consistent with the intent of Rule 13.5.2.
SO. A rifle maybe re-barrelled and re-chambered in any SAAMI/CIP approved cartridge/calibre as specified at Rule 13.5.3 and 13.5.4. For example, if a rifle was sold in 308win and the owner re-chambers the rifle to 6.5 Creedmoor then the rifle is compliant with the SSR and can be used in NRAA competitions. Annex H will be amended to correct this error in the next SSR update.
For the old SSR (pre–1 Jan 2026)
Previous Standard Shooting Rules (to 31 December 2025)
The SSR documents below apply to NRAA activities conducted up to and including 31 December 2025.
From 1 January 2026, these versions are retained only as a reference for historical results and for those discipline chapters that are identified as continuing in SSR V8.0 (1 Jan 26) until new rules are approved.
