Award goes to Gosford Rifle Club

Gosford District Rifle Club has won the 2019 Sport Organisation of the Year at the Central Coast Sports Awards. This significant award recognises the outstanding work done by the club committee and members, in providing first class facilities and promoting the sport in the Region. It is quite an honour for the club to win this award, being among a wide array of talented sports people, clubs and officials who are recognised by Sport Central Coast. This is not only a good result for the club but also for shooting sports in general.

Club Membership has grown in recent years. Gosford now has the largest membership in NSW in the Long-Range discipline. All mounds on the range are all-weather ‘Astro-Turf’ and the club has seven ‘HEXTA’ electronic targets, one for each firing lane. The club recently invested in a solar/lithium battery system which now provides an adequate supply to power the clubhouse and charge all batteries.

The success of the club has been due to a focus on the fostering and encouragement of new and junior members with a strong policy of inclusiveness, regardless of age, gender or physical ability.
