An Inter-club picnic night shoot on 14 March for members of Perth Fremantle Rifle Club and Armed Forces District Rifle Association raised $1,500 for the NRAA Precision Service Rifle Team members to attend the CSR Imperial Meeting at Bisley in the UK.
A pre-match BBQ was provided for the 28 competitors who then strolled over to the 300m gallery at the Pinjar Rifle Range for 10 shot applications within 60 seconds and 2 x 10 shots within 180 seconds – no sighters.
The atmosphere made it a great night of fun. There were a few challenges to overcome with lighting breakdowns but as one of the competitors said, “It’s not a cricket match in a stadium and the atmosphere is like a bunch of mates having a fun time.”
Winners were Brett B (NATO Class) with 146.9 followed by Jason D 145.15; Greg D (Open Class) 150.19 (an outstanding triple possible) followed by Stuart B 148.12; Bill H (Service Rifle Class) 96 followed by Brad D 74; Chris H (Service Optic Class) scored 139.13.
