NRAA’s support of the winter Olympic sport of biathlon continues to progress.

Overseas Training Camps

NRAA’s cohort of biathlon members recently took part in a number of summer IBU/IOC sponsored development camps held in Nove Mesto (CZE) and Lenzerheide (SUI) ahead of upcoming competitions which commence at the end of November.

The CZE camp was the result of a partnership for the upcoming season with the Czech Biathlon Association and the SUI Camp part of the IBU’s International Youth Camp support for developing nations. 73 biathletes from 22 nations took part with the camp financially supported by the Olympic Solidarity Foundation. NSWRA Women on Target (WOT) Program

Biathlon also took part in NSWRA’s WOT program held over the weekend of 28th and 29th October. The weekend was fantastically attended with 40 attendees participating over each of the two days. The girls learnt about F Class, TR, scatt shooting and of course biathlon. Feedback from the participants included how nice everyone was, the coaches were patient and they loved the experience. Great work from NSWRA for their obtaining of the Grant and introducing females to the different disciplines of shooting within NRAA and its member States, Territories and Clubs.
