A big congratulations to the Australian U25’s Team for their many successes at the 2024 Long Range TR World Championships. Their lead in results were superb and while an unfortunate mishap at the 900m Range prevented a successive U25 World Championships title win in 2024, their graciousness and team spirit was exemplary.

After the 300m and 800m, Australia’s U25’s TR team held the lead……but then “that’s shooting” kicked in. Tricky conditions and a few mishaps knocked the team’s scores out of the top 3 at the last Range (900m), and although they held the highest cente count, it wasn’t enough ponts to earn a top 3 placing.  As gracious as ever, the team congratulated Great Britain on an amazing performance throughout the U25’s competition day to win the competition, as well as all competitors from the other countries of South Africa, USA and New Zealand who persevered through challenging conditions and made their home countries proud.

U25s World Champs Results:

1st Great Britain 968.78

2nd USA 958.83

3rd South Africa 948.85

4th Australia 946.93

5th New Zealand 939.71

The team also wanted to note:

  • Special mention to Craig Ryan who as always held the team together and ensured we had what we needed at all times. We couldn’t do it without you legend!
  • A huge thank you to our co-Australian Rifle Teams (Open/Palma & Veterans), our friends and family that supported us on the range and throughout the last year.

“Our achievements are a reflection of the hard work you all put in to helping us develop and be the best shooters we could be. Thank you!”

The U25’s Australian Rifle team to contest the World U25s team match in Bloemfontein, South Africa, 16 March 2024 was:

Captain – Alexander Hoffmann

Manager – Chris Schwebel

Adjutant & Reserve – Craig Ryan

Master Coach – Mitch Bailey

Shooters:
