The National Rifle Association of Australia (NRAA) is seeking to appoint one additional member to its Selection Committee for the 2026–2027 period.
While the current committee consists of three members (including a Chair) and is operating effectively, we are looking to strengthen governance and reduce quorum risk by appointing an additional member.
Role of the Selection Committee
The Selection Committee is responsible for overseeing the processes and decisions relating to the appointment of Australia’s representative rifle teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing nomination processes
- Selecting Team Captains
- Confirming management team structures (based on Captain recommendations)
- Designing and administering trial processes
- Determining objective and subjective selection criteria
- Communicating selection processes clearly and transparently
- Making formal recommendations to the NRAA Board
The Committee operates in accordance with the current NRAA Selection Committee Charter and all relevant NRAA policies.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking individuals who:
- Demonstrate objectivity and sound judgement
- Value strong governance and robust process
- Communicate clearly and transparently
- Are committed to selecting the best possible leaders and teams
- Share the ambition of maintaining Australia’s world-best or world-class performance standards
Note – The current panel is overrepresented by Target Rifle backgrounds. To broaden perspective and strengthen diversity of experience, we particularly encourage nominations from other disciplines. However, all expressions of interest will be considered.
How to Nominate
To nominate, please email: nominations@nraa.com.au
Please include:
- A brief statement expressing your interest in joining the Selection Committee
- A short summary outlining what you believe you can contribute as a member
We encourage members who are passionate about process, performance, and Australian team success to apply.
