NRAA’s TR teams match was held at the sunny and warm Townsville Range from Sunday 11th May to 13 May 2024. The host for the competition was North Queensland Rifle Association (NQRA) on behalf of NRAA.

The match was attended by 7 of the NRAA’s State & Territory Associations being – QRA, NSWRA, ACTFBRA, VRA, SARA, WARA and a joint team from NTRA & NQRA. The competition ran over a range of distances including 300m, 600m, 700m, 800m and 900m, a true testing of capability!

The competition was fierce with all the traditional State & Territory rivalry and comradeship, with some great performances including the winners of the Individual Top of Rifle in the Merrett Match:

Winners of the Top-off-Rifle Award – Bob Crawford, Leigh Marett (coach), Josh Pratt

President Perpetual Trophy (Match 9)

Individual Top-of-Rifle in the Merrett (Match 1)

Won BY Bob Crawford with a score of 200.25

Coach: Leigh Marrett

The Western Australia Perpetual Trophy (Match 10)

Individual Top- U25 Of-Rifle in the Merrett (Match 1)

Won BY Josh Pratt with a score of 200.24

Coach: Leigh Marett

It was great to see the participation of a number of shooters who had taken part in the recent TR World Championships sharing their expertise as part of their State Teams. And, in addition, the pleasing number of U25 shooters who were part of their State/Territory Teams. Each Team competing included an U25 member spanning the ages of 15yrs to 24yrs. The future is bright!
